The church was built in the early 13th century on a high mound in the middle of the elongated settlement. The brick bell tower with a basket arch portal dates from around 1500 and has an octagonal spire made of slate (1881). The massive, but not very useful, supporting pillars on the apse were added at the beginning of the 20th century to prevent the eastern part of the church from collapsing.
The painting of the beamed ceiling with acanthus leaves is worth seeing, with the central section still dating from 1717. The elongated church ends in a recessed apse. Here stands a sacrament house made of Baumberg sandstone in the shape of a Gothic pinnacle.
The winged altar from 1520 shows the crucifixion of Christ in the middle, while scenes from the lives of St. Martin of Tours and St. Thomas of Canterbury can be seen on the wings.
The organ case and façade pipes are from 1744; in 1970, a two-manual organ with 24 stops was installed behind it by the Führer company from Wilhelmshaven.
Worship service:
14-days, Sundays, 10 a.m. (see notice)
