- Destination: Tegernsee train station
The Tegernsee Höhenweg is one of the classics in the region – and rightfully so! During the route, you get a view of the lake and all the valley communities. Additionally, the route is easy but varied and can be rounded off with a stop at the Tegernsee Brauhaus. Starting in Gmund and along the lakeside path, the view opens up to Lake Tegernsee. Pause briefly and enjoy the beauty and calm of the lake. Through the town and over Gasse, you reach the Höhenweg. Initially it is a bit steeper, then gently undulating but with great views over the lake. There are plenty of opportunities for short rests along the way before heading downhill to Tegernsee. If you want to end your day in Tegernsee, you should stop at the well-known Brauhaus. Trains run hourly from Tegernsee back to Gmund.
Tip: As a small highlight, you can also take the boat from Tegernsee back to Gmund for the return trip.
