  • Destination: Tegernsee station

From station to station, this beautiful route leads above Tegernsee along the foothills of Neureuth. With wonderful views and plenty of places to stop for refreshments.

Arrive, catch your breath, look around and enjoy: The Gmund station is located directly on the lake, so first you absorb the atmosphere before setting off via the Mangfall bridge and the idyllic hamlet of Gasse to the Tegernsee Höhenweg. Just before reaching the Höhenweg, in Oberbuchberg the first stop awaits with the unique café in the over 300-year-old Oberbuchbergerhof (note opening hours): fresh cakes, spelt bread, spreads – all homemade and served in the small, romantic garden. In Unterbuchberg finally begins the wide Höhenweg, which leads with gentle ups and downs over 4 kilometers to Tegernsee – it meanders through the forest, repeatedly presents grand views of the lake and mountain landscape, and offers many resting places.
