Circular route ‘Trauermantel’ (Camberwell Beauty butterfly) - Cross-Border Hike to Bučina and Knižecí Pláně

On the circular route ‘Trauermantel’ (Camberwell Beauty butterfly), we start at the Buchwald/Bučina border crossing and venture into Šumava National Park. Along the way, we discover many traces of the rich history of this border region, including reconstructed border installations, as well as in Fürstenhut/Knižecí Pláně, the rebuilt cemetery, remnants of the church, and the war memorial of the destroyed village. The open landscape with pastures, stone walls, and groups of trees holds its own special charm.
