From the starting point at Cloef-Atrium, the bike route follows the Saarland cycle path through forests and meadows towards Faha. From Faha, it continues to Kesslingen. Passing the restored Jakobsbrunnen, at the Kesslingen shelter there is a gourmet station with regional specialties to discover the flowing delights of the region. The village chapel of St. Jakobus, built in the 18th century and listed as a protected monument, features an artistic slate tower, late Gothic choir, and neo-Gothic portal from the 19th century with a divided spire (pyramidal roof, extended octagonal with onion domes, lanterns, and a tip), and a wooden column altar with a Roman inscription stone as the altar’s base. A oak wood figure group represents the "Seven Sleepers" and recalls Kesslingen as a pilgrimage site of former times. The Kesslingen chapel is closely linked to the Way of St. James through its patron saint Jakobus.
The route continues through Oberleuken to Borg. In Borg, the Roman Villa is a real highlight of the route. It is the only fully reconstructed domain of an ancient villa complex; even in Italy, the core land of the Roman Empire, nothing comparable exists. With a gatehouse, museum manor house, Roman baths, latrine, Roman kitchen, craftsmen's huts, and Roman gardens, Villa Borg is the ideal setting to immerse yourself in daily life in Rome. At the end of the tour, a Roman dish such as spicy Lucanian sausages awaits in the tavern.
The route continues along the Saarland cycle path to Eft and on to Hellendorf. Here, Sonnenhof invites you to a regional stop. Along the Bundeswehr ammunition depot, the path passes through a beautiful forested area back to Orscholz. Shortly before Orscholz, at an idyllic fish pond, the Höcker Line offers another small highlight of the route. The Höcker Line in Orscholz was a concrete tank obstacle and part of the West Wall. A section over a kilometer long, especially well preserved, was uncovered and made accessible by a path. The themed circular hiking trail complements the offer.
Through a forest passage, you reach back to Orscholz. Through the town center, the route ends at the symbol of Saarland. At the Cloef-Atrium, the Regiothek and the Bistro Mirabell invite you to conclude your route.
