Dream Loop The Bergener

Between the campsite and the equestrian centre at Girtenmühle, the route starts at the entrance portal. In the nearby forest, the track initially follows the course of the Panzbach. Along the Rotenbach and several times over stepping stones, the path winds like a dragon partly over rocky ground, partly soft forest soil or an interweaving of roots, gently uphill.

Behind an old quarry with a rest area, it goes downhill, initially in the forest, later along the edge of the forest. Between Bergen and Scheiden, the view opens up to Merzig and further into the Lorraine plateau area. The entrance to the nearby forest is via a wooden footbridge. In a continuous up and down, you reach the sensory bench above an old quarry with views over the Hochwald.

Along the Metzenbach, the path leads downhill. After crossing the stream, stepping boards and small wooden footbridges lead through a primeval forest-like woodland.

Above Bergen are sensory benches. From here you can enjoy the view over the forested hills of the surrounding area. Only a few metres from the viewpoint stands a small chapel on the roadside, which was built during the First World War in 1914/15.
