Friesenroute Rad up Pad - 3rd stage (3/6)

You start in the coastal town of Norden. Numerous sights are concentrated around the Norder marketplace. Mentioned are the Ludgerikirche with the Baroque organ by Arp Schnitger, the Tea Museum, and the "Three Sisters," three Renaissance-style townhouses with enchanting facades.

The coastal district of Norddeich also offers various leisure opportunities. In addition to sandy and grassy beaches, the seal sanctuary is especially popular with visitors.

A few kilometers east of Norden, amidst large forested areas, lies the Samtgemeinde Hage. At its gates is the water castle Lütetsburg. The associated castle park offers a fascinating sight in every season. At the opposite end of Hage stands Berum Castle, which is considered one of the oldest and most traditional castles in East Frisia.

The Friesenroute leads back to the coast. On straight paths along the dike, guests reach the Samtgemeinde Dornum. The coastal towns of Neßmersiel and Dornumersiel attract with bathing beaches and pristine nature, while culture and history are highly regarded in the neighboring Dornum. For example, Dornum showcases Dornum Castle, the 13th-century St. Bartholomew's Church, and the Beningaburg.
