From Burgk Castle to Kaitzer Höhe

This varied circular walk starts at Burgk Castle, where the Freital Municipal Collections offer insights into mining and regional history. The trail (marked yellow dot/path no. 7) leads through the district of Birkigt and past the historic Windberg Railway - the "Saxon Semmering Railway". You reach the Kaitzer Höhe via the romantic Kesselgrund and Kaitzgrund and enjoy the wide panoramic view over Dresden. The route continues through Kleinnaundorf along the Kaitzbach stream to its idyllic source and back to the starting point at Burgk Castle. A varied tour with a mix of culture, history and nature experiences.
