The route from Grimma to Wurzen runs along a disused railway line. Since it runs largely away from roads, it is ideal for family outings.

The starting point of the route is the station in Grimma. Passing Grimma Castle, you cross over the Pöppelmann Bridge to the other side of the river, to continue the bike path.

Halfway along the way lies the beautiful little town of Trebsen. Here many fruit trees along the path invite you to snack.

Another highlight of the route is Trebsen Castle. Here you can admire one of the greatest architectural achievements of the late Middle Ages: the cell vault made of multiple broken honeycomb ceilings.

One of the oldest castles in the German-speaking area is located in the center of Wurzen.

Wurzen also offers other cultural highlights, such as the Ringelnatz Path, the Krietsch Mill, or the old town hall.
