Großröhrsdorf and surrounding area

If arriving by train from Dresden, you first pass through Großharthau station via an underpass, so you exit on the north side. A nearby signpost indicates the start of the path (red line). The path continues through the large forest area of the legendary Massenei, passing the Großer and Kleiner Stern, until reaching the ribbon-weaving town of Großröhrsdorf in the Röder valley. Here you will find numerous sights and testimonies of the traditional ribbon weaving that still shapes the town today. A visit to the Technical Museum of Ribbon Weaving is particularly worthwhile. You can now re-board the train at the station or continue hiking north toward the Großer Flügel. From there, the gingerbread town of Pulsnitz, which also has a train connection, can be reached.
