On this route you predominantly hike along the Talsperrenrundweg and the Vogtland Panorama Way from the passenger ship dock of the Talsperre Pöhl through the Elster valley to the Falknerei Herrmann.
Along the way you pass the watersports center of Talsperre Pöhl with a large playground, the **** Gunzenberg campsite, as well as the Lochbauer and the Environment & Nature Conservation Center Paffengut in Plauen. In addition, various inns are located along the way, inviting you to stop for a meal.
This route becomes a true highlight when you combine the hike with a boat trip on the Talsperre Pöhl and the subsequent visit to the Falknerei Herrmann.

Directions
The hike begins at the passenger ship dock near the dam. From here, you hike along the shore of the Talsperre Pöhl, passing the climbing forest Pöhl and first reaching the watersports center. Here there is a large recreation area as well as the Panorama restaurant. You follow the Talsperrenrundweg to the reception at the **** Gunzenberg campsite. You can take a break here and visit two more recreational areas with new play equipment for children. The inn "Zur Auszeit" also invites you to stop for a meal. Afterwards, follow the hiking and cycling path along the main road S297 towards Plauen. After 350 m, cross the road to reach the Vogtland Panorama Way to Falknerei Herrmann. Now you hike about 800 m through the forest, approaching the Lochbauer inn and the White Elster river. Before reaching the inn, you cross the river via a wooden bridge. Then you pass a railway crossing and hike about 1 km along the Vogtland Panorama Way to the Environment and Nature Conservation Center Pfaffengut. Here you have the opportunity to take a detour to Pfaffengut with a wildcat enclosure. Finally, after about 850 m, you reach the Falknerei Herrmann in Plauen/Reißig. At Falknerei Herrmann you can experience the fascination of birds of prey & owls up close in a 60-minute show.
Right next to Falknerei Herrmann is the inn Waldhaus Reißig – a wonderful place to stop for a meal after the hike.
Directions & Parking facilities
From the A 72 coming from Bavarian Vogtland, please take exit Plauen-Ost (7) and from Chemnitz the exit Treuen (8) and follow the signs to Talsperre Pöhl.
Use the paid parking lot at the watersports center between the Gunzenberg campsite and the climbing forest.

To use the combined ticket in one day, start with the 1-hour boat trip on the Talsperre Pöhl at 11:00 am, then hike to Falknerei Herrmann and attend the flight demonstration at 3:00 pm. (Lunch is possible at Talsperre Pöhl or at the Waldhaus Reißig)
