The Kornbrennerweg trail leads from Krummesse through idyllic countryside to farm shops, magnificent manor houses, and churches.

The hike along the Kornbrennerweg offers a unique combination of nature and history. This culturally enriching trail begins in Krummesse, where the traditional Kornbrennerei distillery has been producing high-proof spirits since 1625.

The trail runs picturesquely along the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, past the characteristic hedgerow landscapes of northern Germany. Forests and impressive avenues invite you to relax, while farm shops and cafés along the route offer regional delicacies.

Special cultural highlights include the Gut Bliestorf manor house, dating from 1380, and the ruins of the historic Brömbsenmühle mill. The St. Johanniskirche church in Krummesse, with its relics from the 13th-century Stecknitzfahrer river pirates, is another historic anchor point.

This family-friendly tour is well signposted, making it ideal for hiking with dogs. The region is at its most beautiful from May to September, making a visit to the Kornbrennerweg particularly worthwhile. This trail invites you to experience the harmonious symbiosis of nature and culture.
