Directions
The starting point of the route is the village square in Schöna. On the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Weg, you climb up to the Kaiserkrone. The Kaiserkrone is, by the way, the heavily rugged remnant of a table mountain. Three different viewpoints offer an impressive panorama with the Schrammsteinkette, the Großer Winterberg, and the Bohemian Switzerland.
The route then leads across flat terrain to the Zirkelstein, which is considered the smallest of the local table mountains. You reach the rock plateau via a series of iron ladders. A worthwhile stop after the route is the guesthouse "Am Zirkelstein" in Schöna, where delicious dishes are lovingly prepared from regional ingredients.
