The legend trail is a circular route of about 7.6 kilometers in the forest area of the Massenei, a large forest area east of Dresden.

On numerous display boards, legends from the surrounding area are illustrated in pictures and text. The legends are told briefly and at the same time in the wonderful archaic legend language on the boards. Numerous benches along the path invite you to linger. The start and finish is the parking lot at the Massenei Baths. The hiking trail is marked with a blue S.

Directions

The hiking trail is basically passable in both directions. The following description describes the circular route clockwise:

You leave the parking lot heading east and first cross Massenei Street. The hiking trail leads almost to the town boundary of Großröhrsdorf, but before it is reached, the path turns sharply to the right. You now reach the forest house Kleiner Stern, a log cabin maintained by the Saxon Forest Service. Heading south, the hiking trail turns right at the next intersection. Along the forked path, after crossing Massenei Street again, you come to an intersection with a small shelter and a hiking trail information board. From here, follow the signs north to the Steinteich, a beautiful, quiet pond with numerous seating options. From here it is only a short distance back to the starting point at the Massenei Baths.
