On the way through Niederlößnitz in Radebeul, you can enjoy an unforgettable view over the Elbe valley and the Radebeul vineyards.
The hike begins directly at the show vineyard of the Hoflößnitz winery, one of the oldest wineries in Saxony. Here you ascend below the historic Friedensburg castle, while information boards along the way provide fascinating insights into the tradition and art of Saxon viticulture. A special feature of the route is the historic water tunnel on Burgstraße. The Frog King, who sits on a wall and accompanies hikers with his mysterious charm, keeps watch in its immediate vicinity. According to legend, the Frog King is the ruler of an underground kingdom and awaits his redemption in the tunnel. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the legendary passageway!
After the ascent, idyllic wine houses and cozy taverns along the way invite you to take an enjoyable break. A glass of Radebeul wine is the perfect accompaniment to enjoy the view. Along the Obere Bergstraße, you will come across numerous picturesque buildings, including the impressive Minckwitzsche Weinberghaus, a real architectural gem. The descent takes you past the Minckwitz vineyard through the romantically named Finstere Gasse. But don't worry - instead of a gloomy atmosphere, an idyllic atmosphere characterized by the surrounding vineyards awaits you here.
The route offers various options for hikers who want to discover more panoramic views. Beautiful routes lead past smaller vineyard sites such as the Paradies and the Terrassenberg. At the water tower, the path finally winds its way through an enchanted forest surrounded by vineyard walls - a final enchanting section before the tour ends.
Experience the beauty of Saxony's wine-growing landscape on this route and enjoy a unique blend of nature, history and culinary delights!
