The comfortable bike route takes us from Torgau to Delitzsch without major climbs, but with an exceptional range of opportunities for natural history observations and worthwhile detours to numerous sights.

Directions

The route starts in Torgau at the well-known Hartenfels Castle right on the Elbe. On Schlossstraße, the path leads past the marketplace by the Bürgermeister-Ringenhain-Haus to "Friedrichplatz." Then you pass the Torgau district hospital as well as Fort Zinna castle before leaving Torgau and reaching Süptitz via Zinna. The bike path continues through the Düben Heath Nature Park, which impresses with magnificent pine groves and extensive mixed forest areas. Along the way, the villages of Weidenhain, Roitzsch, Pressel, and Authausen are passed before you reach the spa town of Bad Düben. At Bad Düben castle, the bike path crosses the Mulde bridge and then continues right along the United Mulde to Löbnitz. South of Seehausener Lake, the route finally continues via Benndorf to Delitzsch.

  • A9 Berlin-Munich → Coswig exit → via Wittenberg to Torgau (approx. 70 km)
  • A14 Dresden-Halle → Mutzschen exit → via Wermsdorf to Torgau (approx. 40 km)
  • A14 Halle-Dresden → Leipzig Northeast exit → via Eilenburg to Torgau (approx. 50 km)
  • A13 Berlin-Dresden → Duben exit (approx. 70 km)

Delitzsch: Richard-Wagner-Straße

By train or S-Bahn to Torgau.

Leipzig – Torgau – Falkenberg – Cottbus/Hoyerswerda (S 4 or RE 10)

From here it is less than 15 minutes to the start point of the route.

Starting in the opposite direction is also possible and there is also a train or S-Bahn connection directly in Delitzsch.

Additional information

From Torgau, there is the possibility to continue on the Elbe Cycle Route. In Delitzsch, there is a connection to the COAL | STEAM | LIGHT | LAKES cycle route. In both towns, there is the possibility for onward or return travel by public transport.
