Directions

The starting point of the hike is the hiking car park at the cultural landscape museum (car park at Kirchenteich) with forest classroom. From there, the hike begins towards Doktorteich, around it up to Reiherteich. The route leads along the other side of Doktorteich, past burial mounds, the three ponds, and the remains of the deserted village Nennewitz, up to the northeast shore of Kirchenteich, where you can admire an approximately 350-year-old oak. Near Kirchenteich, the Wermsdorf Forest Cultural Landscape Museum invites you to explore the over 3200-year-old history of Wermsdorf through display panels. The further path leads via Krumme G back to Zeisigteich and from there over the Alten A towards Häuschenteich, where the resting hut Sauhausdickig invites you to linger. On the way back, you pass via Förstersteig to the dam of Zeisigteich and from there onwards past Kirchenteich back to the starting point.

If starting at the Wermsdorfer Wald hiking car park at the Old Hunting Lodge or arriving by public transport, the hike can start in the center of Wermsdorf. After walking a piece of the S42 towards Sachsendorf, you enter Wermsdorfer Wald, so the Zeisigteich is passed first. With start and end point in the center, the circular hike is about 18 km long.
