In the 18th century, the building housed a wheelwright's workshop. Later, the Spranger family built a club room and this was then turned into a pub with a bowling alley and its own butcher's shop. In 1955, Karl and Lydia Zschäck bought the property and ran the restaurant and butcher's shop. Their son Bringfried Zschäck and his wife took over the butcher's shop in 1960 and ran it until 2000. Since 2000, the restaurant and butcher's shop have been run by brothers Detlev and Jens Zschäck, now in the 3rd generation.
As in the old days, traditional regional Vogtland dishes, such as baked blood and sweet/sour spots and much more, are still produced and gassed today.
