The picturesque appearance of the village with 600 inhabitants is shaped by its well-known Salvatorkirche (built from 1624 to 1626), whose octagonal tower already defines the village view from afar and impresses inside with its rich furnishings. In the middle of the village, an old arch bridge has connected the two banks of the Weißer Elster for 700 years. With its 7 arches over 46 meters long, it is one of the oldest stone arch bridges in Germany. Cycling around the village of Kürbitz, you can discover even more: small village churches that breathe the history of Vogtland, testimonies of the German-German division with the motorway bridge in Pirk that could only be completed after reunification, wonderful views of the Vogtland hill landscape that make you forget the effort of the climbs. On the way, small village inns invite you to linger.
