Start and finish of the circular route is the Pöhl Dam or the Gunzenberg campsite. On the long-distance bike path Euregio Egrensis, you pass idyllic villages between the towns of Plauen and Oelsnitz to Lottengrün, where the route continues on the Falkenstein-Oelsnitz bike path to the Pirk Dam. Here, a detour towards Taltitz is worthwhile to reach the shore of the Pirk Dam with beach and campsite.
The return leg follows the Elster bike path from Oelsnitz past the impressive Pirk highway bridge via Weischlitz and Plauen back to the Pöhl Dam. Various bathing beaches, recreational facilities, and a barbecue area (paid, reservation required) invite you to linger. A crowning conclusion to the bike tour at the "Vogtland Sea"!
