The local fieldstone church stands on a small hill to the south of the village of Meuchefitz. It is surrounded by a cemetery, which in turn is enclosed by a fieldstone wall.
The exact year of construction of the historic church can no longer be determined. However, it is believed to have been built sometime at the end of the 13th century. This is supported, among other things, by its single-nave construction with the round choir end.The church tower was probably added later. It is made of bricks at the bottom and is clad with boards at the top and has a copper roof.
The baptismal angel is one of four that can still be found in Wendland churches today. After being housed in the Amtsturm in Lüchow for decades, it was restored in the 1990s. It then returned to the church in Meuchefitz. It has been in use here again since 2002.
