- Destination: Reichenbach/O.L.
A good start for the 40.5 km circular route is Reichenbach/O.L., a small cozy town on the old trade route Via Regia. Passing the late Gothic St. John's Church and the Hussite Gate, the path leads to the Napoleon Bridge. From there, you head north towards the Königshain Hills, a granite mountain massif with beautiful hiking trails. You continue through the Kanonenbusch to Markersdorf, where the village museum invites you to linger. After a visit, you cycle to Pfaffendorf, at the foot of the Landeskrone. Now you have the choice to cycle further east to visit Görlitz with its unique old town or south to Jauernick-Buschbach. This small, quaint town offers an excellent view of Berzdorfer Lake. Next, you go to Deutsch-Paulsdorf, where the donkey farm is an absolute must for animal lovers. After this stop, you can discover a Dutch and post mill in Sohland am Rotstein or enjoy the beautiful landscape from the viewing tower on the Rotstein (the oldest nature reserve in Saxony) before returning to your starting point.
