Directions

From the starting point of the German Space Exhibition, the path leads to the village center up to the roundabout. It then continues on a lightly used road towards Sachsengrund. After about 3 km on the right side stands the Morgenröthe blast furnace, a witness of long past days, in which over 9,000 cast-iron church bells were cast from 1900 to 1968. Shortly after the blast furnace, turn left onto Markersbach Street. The route now leads from the forest edge away from noise and hustle on a well-maintained forest path, following the ridge trail marking, to the Drei Bächle nature reserve with the oldest spruce stand in Germany. From there, follow the green hiking trail towards Sachsengrund. The return route runs on the lightly used Pyra Valley Street towards Morgenröthe and further back to the starting point.
