Kappelrodeck - Schnapsbrunnentour (Official route)

Fruit growing has a centuries-old tradition in Kappelrodeck. It has always been an important part of the municipality's agricultural operations. The harvested fruit is mostly processed by schnapps distilleries. There are over 400 small distillers in Kappelrodeck and Waldulm alone. A special feature in the region are the so-called "Schnapsbrunnen". These delight hikers on the way with tasting opportunities of the homemade products (for a small contribution). In summer, the bottles in the fountain are cooled with clear mountain water. Non-alcoholic drinks are also provided, so children are well cared for.

The following route description runs counterclockwise. However, the Schnapsbrunnenpfad is signposted as a circular route in both directions and can also be hiked clockwise!

From the market square in Kappelrodeck, you go through the "Grüner Winkel" to the Café "Zuckerbergschloss". Through the park, we reach Waldstraße. We go left towards Ganzeck. Here we reach the first "Schnapsbrunnen". The path now leads downhill through the vineyards to the "Upper Baslerhof" (with tasting room in a barrel) and further towards the main road. We cross this and reach the Upper Lammhof via the Lower one. From there, it continues to Simmehof. Then we go to the road, from which a short uphill detour to the lovingly designed "Lourdes Grotto" is worthwhile. Downhill on the road, we come to the last Schnapsbrunnen of our tour at the Baßler family. Our hike continues to Dasenstein with a wonderful view over Kappelrodeck and the Rhine plain and back to the starting point at the market square.
