The surroundings of the town of Leisnig fascinate with a green hilly landscape, which is crossed on this hiking route. Signposted as circular trail no. 7, the route leads along the Schanzenbach past two of the formerly seven water mills: Schanzenmühle and Leithenmühle. The two ponds, Maschinenteich and Mühlteich, invite nature observations. After the half-day route, a visit to the Luther room in the old town estate is worthwhile. Here, the famous Leisnig box regulation is exhibited. On special days, the sounds of the Jehmlich organ can be heard in the church of St. Matthäi.
