Discover the city of Görlitz with your children in a different way. Explore the many playgrounds in downtown Görlitz. The route has something for all age groups. The playground route takes you through the city center of Görlitz. 

You can discover the following playgrounds: Lutherplatz playground, Sonnenhof playground, Jochmannstraße playground, Wilhelmsplatz playground, Sattigplatz playground, Sechsstädteplatz playground, August-Bebel-Platz playground, Kreuzkirchenpark playground, and Görlitz Park Railway playground.

Directions

The route starts at the playground on Lutherplatz. There are numerous play equipment here, including a trampoline. From here, it goes via Hospitalstraße to Jakobstraße. Here lies Wilhelmsplatz, at whose eastern end there is also a small playground. The route continues along Jakobstraße towards the station to the Jakobstunnel.
The next stop is Sattigplatz. Here you will find a giant slide and many other attractive play equipment. From here, the next playground is less than 10 minutes away via Kunnerwitzer Straße. On Sechs-Städte-Platz, there are swings and Indian huts. The route follows the tracks of the Görlitzer Funkenkutsche (tram) to August-Bebel-Platz. Here you will find numerous play equipment and many activity opportunities. The path then leads via Arndtstraße to a smaller playground in Kreuzkirchenpark. From here, it is about a 20-minute walk via Reuterstraße, Eichendorffstraße and Holteistraße to the highlight of the entire route, the Görlitz Park Railway. On a circuit of about 700 meters, a replica of the first German train, the "Adler," makes its rounds.

If you want to return to the starting point, it is recommended to take bus line B from the stop "An der Landskronbrauerei" to Demianiplatz. Then transfer to bus line A towards Landskronsiedlung to the stop Landskronstraße. From there, it’s a 5-minute walk to Lutherplatz.

If you come by car, you can drive directly to Obermarkt.
Paid parking is available at Obermarkt, the Old Town parking lot, or the Citycenter Frauentor parking garage.

Take tram lines 1 or 2 to Demianiplatz, then go via Marienplatz and Steinstraße to Obermarkt.

Or

Take tram lines 1 or 2 to the stop Jägerkaserne, then about a 5-minute walk via Langenstraße and Breitestraße to Obermarkt.

Along the playground route, there are interesting sights, including the Nature Reserve Animal Park Görlitz as well as the evangelical Luther Church and the Catholic St. Jakobus Church.

Please observe the signs at the respective playgrounds. The route includes some inclines, for example Luisenstraße, Berliner Straße, and the path to the park railway.
