This circular hiking route enables the meeting of people traveling on both sides of our connecting border to Czechia, to explore the treasures of each other's country.

This path connects the municipality of Sohland on the German side and the town of Sluknov (Schluckenau) on the Czech side. This immediate neighborhood can be experienced in the silence of the forests, in small, dreamy, and once again cared-for settlements. The town of Sluknov, whose center is slowly being revived, invites a small stroll through the town. The hiker must definitely have seen the castle and the stately church. The path leads towards Sohland along the Rosenbach, which quietly babbles and makes its way quite primitively. Beautiful views open up on the further way to Sohland. In the center, the observatory, the church, and the town hall are mentioned here. To reach the starting point again, wonderful views of the village and the hilly landscape are offered. The path over the Alte Dorfstraße also opens the view to the local history museum Altes Weberhaus and the Upper Lusatian Forestry Museum. Unfortunately, both museums can only be visited by appointment.

Directions

We start at the tourist border crossing near Sohland Neudorf towards Lipová. After only a few steps, we turn left onto the hiking and cycling path marked "Blauer Strich" (blue stroke). This path, also marked as cycle route number 3043, leads us along the German-Czech border towards Sluknov. After a break at the marketplace, we turn left towards Germany, leave the marked cycle path, and turn slightly left onto the hiking trail, which is again marked with the "blue stroke." Via Rozany we reach the car border crossing and after about 200 m have the choice of either turning left onto the educational trail "Path of the Red Wood Ant" and, after viewing interesting information boards, reaching the starting point, or taking the cycle and footpath to the center of Sohland to the marketplace. Afterward, one can return to Neudorf via Alte Dorfstraße, from where we can enjoy breathtaking views of Sohland and have reached our starting point again.
