UNESCO World Heritage, wide views and Ore Mountains charm on the Walkable Silberberg and the E3

The route starts at the impressive Erlahammer manor, a unique half-timbered ensemble that belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage of the Ore Mountains/Krušnohoří mining region. The historic four-sided courtyard houses a small, lovingly designed exhibition on regional history: a worthwhile introduction to this scenic hike.

From here, the path leads uphill across wide meadows, fields, and through shady woodland. Those who turn around from time to time are rewarded with fantastic views over the valley and the surrounding hilly landscape. Upon reaching the hilltop, another panoramic view opens over the forested mountain ranges of the Ore Mountains.

The path continues through varied nature to the small village of Pöhla. A short stop at the ski jump here is worthwhile, marking an impressive testimony to winter sports in the Ore Mountains. The route then leads through the village to an idyllic pond with several resting spots – perfect for a cozy break with a view of the greenery.

From here, hikers follow the European long-distance path E3. It goes through the village and finally uphill on a little-trafficked road, with repeated wonderful views back to the mountain ranges. Afterwards, the way leads over wide meadows and fields before a quiet forest section and a garden area mark the return path to the Erlahammer manor.

Directions

Start at the Erlahammer manor and walk along the main street towards the town. From here, always follow the signs for “Walkable Silberberg.” Turn right and walk past the apartment blocks and through a garden area. The path then leads through a small wooded area, continuing uphill. Keep left and follow the path across the fields to some trees. Keep right there, then immediately turn left uphill and continue across the fields to the street. At the street, hikers turn left and immediately right again onto the stone embankment. Follow the path uphill until you reach the top. At the next junction, keep right to a street. Follow this street about 100 meters downhill to the left, then turn right onto the meadow. Follow the path to the edge of the forest, keep left there, and after a short time follow the signage right into the forest.

At the bottom, opposite is the ski jump. Behind the jump, the path curves back to the street, which you follow to the right through the village until there are stairs going down on the right. A few meters further is the football pitch, where you turn left and leave the “Walkable Silberberg.” On the main street, keep left and now follow the markers of the European long-distance path E3.

Go uphill on the street, which curves to the right, and continue until the E3 branches off to the right above a viewpoint bench. Follow this path over fields offering wide views, continuing until it meets a street. Turn right there and then immediately leave the street to the left. After a short time, keep left again – downhill toward the forest. Pass the first trees on the right and walk on the path into the forest. It goes continuously downhill, past a garden area, and then continue left to the main street. After about 100 meters along the main street, you reach the starting point again at the Erlahammer manor.
