This bronze plaque in the pavement right on the corner of Kornmarkt and Markt shows the location from which you can see all four inner city churches.

These are St. Johannis to the west, St. Jacobi to the north, St. Albani to the east and St. Michael to the south. In the row of buildings on the south side of the market square stood Göttingen's oldest guild house from 1251, the "Schuhhof". Beneath it is a Gothic vaulted cellar, which today houses a restaurant.
