The bike tour is perfect for a short city round for families, culture enthusiasts, and all those who want to explore Leipzig's west by bike. The route connects green parks, historic sights, and lively trendy neighborhoods.
Starting in the city center, the route passes the Old Town Hall and the St. Thomas Church, continuing through the well-known Clara-Zetkin Park alongside the Weiße Elster river to the west. In the popular trendy district of Plagwitz, cyclists will find a special mix of industrial culture and creative scene. Karl-Heine-Straße is considered the heart of the district with a great selection of restaurants and cultural venues. The many canals, especially the Karl-Heine Canal, have earned Leipzig the nickname "Little Venice". Besides canoe tours and excursion boat trips, authentic Venetian gondolas even glide through the water here. Those who want can set off on a small boat tour anytime.
