Along the way, the hiker passes some extraordinary and historically significant places in the Vogtland. For example, the motorway bridge – begun in 1935 but only completed in 1995 – the only Vogtland thermal spring near the Neumühle, the Schafsbrücke – a stone arch bridge built specifically for sheep in the mid-17th century – the Kienmühle as well as the village of Ruderitz.

The Burgstein ruins are a popular hiking destination. They were pilgrimage churches of the bishoprics of Bamberg and Naumburg, whose border ran here.
